Azerbaijan accuses France of stoking 'new war' in Caucasus

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev accused France of inciting a new war in the Caucasus by arming Armenia, with whom Azerbaijan has been in a territorial conflict over the Nagorno-Karabakh region. Aliyev claimed that France's support for Armenia is disrupting stability in the region and encouraging separatist trends. The peace talks between the two countries have made little progress, and Aliyev has refused to attend negotiations citing French bias. Efforts by the EU to organize new negotiations have not been successful so far.
